Information for members

What to bring, what's provided, and what we ask of you during your stay.

These units are not serviced. The member before you will have left the unit clean and tidy, and we ask you to do the same.

What to bring

• All bedding — quilts, sheets, pillowslips, tea towels and towels for your personal use. These are not provided.
• Food and personal items. There is a dairy and a large mall nearby if you need them.

Essential kitchen equipment is provided.

What’s on site

• Kitchen, bedrooms, lounge, and a bathroom with shower
• Separate laundry with washing machine and dryer — coin operated. Iron and vacuum cleaner also available
• Deep freezer with individual compartments for each unit
• Games room with pool table and table tennis — children must be supervised
• Spa pool — coin operated
• Barbecue
• A user-pays telephone outside the dairy next door

Each unit has instructions covering shopping, doctors, rubbish collection and paper collection.

Conditions of occupation

The aim is a quiet and pleasant environment for everyone staying.

You are responsible for your own conduct and that of any guests who book or use the facilities with you.

Children must be supervised so there is no disruption to other users. Complaints from other users will result in a formal discussion, and may result in the member and their guests being asked to leave.

Maximum occupancy is 5 guests per unit. This is set in the interests of members' safety and is required under health and safety law. Please stick to it — if more people arrive than a unit allows, this may be reported and could put the Society’s licence at risk.

Quiet hours are 10.00pm to 8.00am. Please keep noise to a reasonable minimum.

The spa pool at Manly is not a swimming pool. Parents must supervise children and avoid splashing, which lowers the water level. Close the spa pool door firmly after use to limit unauthorised access.

Parking

One car per unit, plus street parking. No parking on the grassed area. No tents or caravans on the property.

Smoking

No smoking inside any of the accommodation. Extra cleaning costs will be charged to the occupant where someone has smoked. Please don’t leave butts on the lawn or paths.

Damage and loss

Report any loss or damage to the property to the Society as soon as you can — [email protected]. Contact details for urgent on-site issues are in each unit.

• Losses and damages will be charged where necessary. Please don’t replace broken items yourself.
• Any damage or breakage will be charged to the person renting the unit or house. Wilful damage will result in immediate suspension of membership.

Lost keys

Report a lost key. A replacement is charged at $15.00 per key.

Before you leave

You should find the property clean and stocked with basic equipment each time you use it. Please leave it the same way. An additional fee is charged if a unit is damaged or left in a state requiring commercial cleaning.

1. Vacuum the unit and wipe down surfaces. Cleaning equipment is provided — the vacuum cleaner and floor mops are kept in the laundry.
2. Remove the shower trap and clear your hair from it to prevent blockages.
3. Clean the microwave and leave the door open.
4. Wipe down the refrigerator, turn it off at the wall, and leave the door open. Don’t forget anything you’ve left in the laundry freezer.
5. Remove all food and rubbish to the designated rubbish areas. The correct rubbish sacks can be bought from the dairy.
6. Take your bedding with you. Leave each bed with its mattress cover, one pillow and one duvet.
7. Take your belongings — but leave behind anything belonging to the Society.
8. Lock all doors and windows securely unless asked otherwise.

Dogs

Only house-trained dogs may be brought to the residences.

• The dog’s owner must be a member and in residence with the dog
• The dog must sleep and lie on its own bedding
• The dog must not be threatening to others in the residence
• The owner must stop the dog wandering and pick up all faeces

If a complaint is received, the member may be asked to remove the dog following a discussion with the owner.

Unit layouts

Manly beach units

Four units are available for members to book. Each has two bedrooms, three beds and one bathroom, with a maximum occupancy of five.

Chamberlain House

Three bedrooms, four beds and one bathroom — two queen beds and two single bunk beds, sleeping up to six.
